Benue Govt Pledges Partnership With APIN To Advance HIV, Other Health Programs.

The Benue State Ministry of Health and Human Services has reaffirmed its commitment to deepening collaboration with key health development partners to strengthen healthcare delivery in the state.

Commissioner for health and human services, Dr. Paul Ogwuche stated this while playing host to a delegation from the AIDS Prevention Initiative in Nigeria (APIN), Public Health Initiatives, led by Dr. Jay Osi Samuels.

He noted that APIN's mission align with the renewed health vision of Governor Hyacinth Alia, stressing that the present administration has prioritised healthcare revitalization, expanding access, and partnership-driven service delivery to ensure quality health care services in the State.

Dr. Ogwuche explained that  under the  current leadership of Governor Alia, the Ministry is focused on repositioning the health sector for greater efficiency, accountability, and results oriented.

He thanked  the organization for its sustained partnership and notable contributions to the state’s health system, especially in the areas of HIV prevention, treatment, and care.

The commissioner however acknowledged the effort of APIN  over the years towards promoting health care services in the state. 

"Your support has made a real difference in the lives of many. The State Government, through the Ministry of Health, remains committed towards ensuring quality health care. The ministry will continue to sustain these important health interventions. 

"This kind of collaboration with APIN, is very  vital to achieve our shared goal of quality healthcare for every Benue citizen,” the Commissioner added.

Earlier, In his address, APIN’s Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Jay Osi Samuels,  commended the Ministry for its proactive leadership and the state’s commitment in fighting HIV/AIDS and improving public health outcomes.

Dr. Samuels maintained that Benue State has shown great commitment over the years in tackling HIV and other health issues and announced that the organisation is ready to collaborate and provide the necessary technical support to sustain achievements already recorded.

He  further reaffirmed that APIN poised to continue supporting the Ministry through technical assistance, data strengthening and community-level interventions that would enhance service delivery and patient outcome.

The meeting ended with both parties reaffirming their shared commitment to sustained partnership, stronger health systems, and continuous collaboration towards a healthier Benue State.
