PCC Boss, Oche Warns Staff Against Partisan Politics In Benue

Federal Commissioner, Public Complaints Commission(PCC) in charge of Benue State, Chief James Oche has warned staff of the Commission to desist from participating in partisan politics.

Chief  Oche gave the during a management meeting of the Commission held in Makurdi recently.

 He explained that the essence of the meeting was to brief the management of the commission on the outcome of States Commissioners' plenary held in Abuja. 

The former executive chairman of Ado local government council, insisted that anyone find in contravening this directive would be made to face the wrath of the law.

This was contained In a statement made available to newsmen in Makurdi, Makurdi.

The statement which was signed by the Commission's Head of Information and Public Relations,Orhemba Charles, explained  that it would be unethical for public servants, especially staff of the Commission to involve themselves in partisan politics without first resigning their appointments.

The federal commissioner directed  staff of the Commission who wants to be partisan in politics, especially in the build-up to the 2027 general election, to first resign their appointments and focus on their political ambitions. 

On the creation of additional departments in the commission, Chief Oche said the commission's plenary has adopted the recommendation of an Adhoc Committee  suggesting that some units in the Commission  be upgraded and more directorates  be created to accommodate the astronomical increase in the number of cases brought to the Commission. 

Orhemba  quoted the commission as enjoining staff of the commission  not to be affiliated with any political parties, influenced by, or found supporting any  candidate or factions. 

He hammered on neutrality, impartiality, and independence, given the fact that, the Commission is a justice umpire in the determination of cases brought to it against individuals, corporate bodies and even government agencies" 

Chief Oche however appreciated the staff and management of the Commission for the successful conduct of the commission's promotion examination that was held recently.

Reacting to the directive, the Director of Investigation, Mr. Kpaakpa Terkura assured the Commissioner that, there would be strict compliance and enforcement of the directive against erring staff and also cautioned staff to live up to expectations.
