Staff Shake-Up Hits Local Bureau, As Alia Post Out Key Officers.

Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, has approved immediate  redeployment of main officials from the Bureau for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs.

 

In the shake-up announced on Tuesday, seen the Special Adviser on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Mr. Denen Aondoakaa, redeployed back to Office of the Chief of Staff, Government House.

 

The legal officer of the Bureau, Barrister Ajinge Saar and permanent secretary overseeing the  Bureau, Barrister Derby Amine, was sent back to the Ministry of Justice.

 

However, Mrs. Galu was sent to the Office of the Accountant-General; while Mr. Shagba Ahura and Rhoda Aboh returned to the Office of the Head of Service respectively.

 

This development was contained in a statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Sir Tersoo Kula and made available to newsmen in Makurdi.

 

He explained that the new appointments were made to fill the vacant positions at the Bureau.

 

Those appointed include Mr. Terna Ayu as Permanent Secretary; Terkura Dzwungwe as Director of Accounts and Finance; Sule Liambee as Director of Administration and Supply; Mrs. Esther Osugh as Cashier; and Mr. Uza Christopher as Director of Local Government Services.

 

In a related development, Mr. Noel Wende was redeployed from the Benue Investment and Property Company (BIPC) to the Office of the Head of Service.

 

According to the statement, the changes take immediate effect, and the newly posted officials are expected to assume duties not later than 8 a.m. on Wednesday, September 24, 2025
