Int'l Day of the Girl Child: Lami celebrates resilience, strength of the girl child

As the world marks the International Day of the Girl-Child, Deputy Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly, .Chief Mrs. Lami Danladi Ogenyi, has  acknowledged the exceptional resilience, strength, and achievements of  girls across the world.

She noted that this special day serve as a powerful reminder of the immense potential, courage, and determination that define the Girl-Child and particularly highlighted the resilience of girls from Benue State, whom she said that, despite facing numerous social and economic challenges, continue to overcome barriers, assert their voices, and make significant contributions to their communities.

The Ado representatives commended the Girl-Child for breaking stereotypes, embracing education, and striving toward excellence in various spheres such as science, technology, leadership, and community development. She emphasizes that their stories of perseverance serve as an inspiration to society and a beacon of hope for future generations.

She maintained that, as a Deputy Speaker, she has consistently championed the advocacy for the rights, protection, and empowerment of the Girl-Child in Benue State and beyond. 

"I further reaffirms my   commitment to promoting policies and initiatives that will advance gender equality, education for all girls, and opportunities that enable them to reach their full potential.

“Whatever you are facing today is not a limitation to what you can achieve tomorrow. With determination, discipline, and self-belief, you can rise above every obstacle and achieve greatness,” she says.

The Onyawole K'Idoma calls on parents, Educators, and leaders to continue supporting efforts aimed at empowering the Girl-Child and creating a society where every girl thrives, free from discrimination and barriers.

She celebrates the courage, intelligence, and leadership of girls everywhere, reaffirming that their dreams are valid, their voices matter, and their future is bright
