Benue South Senatorial Aspirant, Olofu Honours With Wesley Ambassador Award

Former  commissioner for finance and aspirant for the Benue South Senatorial District, Dr. David Olofu has been honored with the Wesley Ambassador Award by the Methodist Church Nigeria Iga-Okpaya Cathedral Circuit, Diocese of Apa. 

The award was presented to him in recognition of his distinguished service to God, passionate support for the Gospel of Christ and contributions to the growth of the Church. 

Speaking to journalists shortly after receiving the award, Dr. Olofu maintained that this recognition is not only about what has been done, but also about the greater work that still lies ahead across the entire Idoma Nation.

Dr. Olofu while there,  took time to inspect the magnificent cathedral project the church has been laboriously and painstakingly undertaking over the years. 

He commended the level of dedication, sacrifice, and commitment behind the project, saying that this effort is truly inspiring and a strong reminder of what can be achieved when people come together in unity and faith.

"As my support for this sacred project, I pledged to donate a trailer load of cement about 900 bags to advance the building of God’s house.

"As a Christian, my faith is the cornerstone of everything I do. All that I am today, God has made me. Whenever I am called upon to build the house of God, I do so gladly, because in giving, I am only returning to God what He has graciously given to me", Olofu stated.

He thanked the leadership of the church for their vision, guidance, and steadfast commitment to God’s work.

" I thank Dr. Oliver Alih Abah, His Eminence and Prelate of the Methodist Church Nigeria; Rt. Rev. Jackson Eriba Agih, Bishop of the Diocese of Apa; and the Cathedral leadership Very Rev. Joshua A. Baba, Cathedral Presbyter, and Mr. Asem Obiaje, Chairman of the Cathedral Building Planning Committee for their tireless efforts and exemplary stewardship in advancing this noble project.

"I am grateful to God Almighty for finding me worthy to be part of His building project. I also appreciate the Methodist Church Nigeria, Iga-Okpaya, for the honor bestowed on me, and I deeply thank everyone who accompanied and supported me at this historic moment".

He specifically extend appreciation to Prof. David Salifu, Hon. Abeje Egwa, Dr. Adakole Elijah, Dr. Dennis Olofu, Elder Donald Agida, Hon. Ocho Oyi, Onche Olofu, and many others.
